Our friend, super famous comedian, YouTuber and actor Tanmay Bhat was venturing out to build his first DAO called Superteam, and we were invited on this rollercoaster to design its visual identity.
Superteam was brought into existence to help the most promising projects in the Solana ecosystem in the ascending world (India, South East Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa) launch and grow. They are organised as a co-operative of creatives, operators, and investors who are experienced in launching and growing technology businesses.
The identity design we created for Superteam takes on from their notion of ‘Stronger Together’. They believe that there is strength in numbers - a strength that comes from working together as a whole.
Imagining people as the building blocks of making something larger together, our mnemonic was inspired by contemporary architecture and shapes, forming the initials of the brand ‘ST’.
We brought duality to the super structured logoform with a splash of excitement through our colours - Super Purple and Super Yellow, two saturated tones making for a contrast one cannot miss. These were supported by a tint each, keeping the palette simple and easy to scale.
This was paired with the wordmark in Archivo Semi Expanded that gave the brand a modern, clean and established feel. We continued to use various weights of Archivo Semi Expanded as the chosen type for the identity.
Extending the geometric language of the mnemonic, we created shapes and brought them to life with gradients and colour blocking. These made for vibrant applications in the form of patterns, animations, social media templates, backgrounds and bounties.
Superteam also created a Supercoin as a memento for members, and a shared asset for the of a community.
We had a blast designing the Supercoin, imagining that it might take physical form one day.
